might be a SafeGame 101 Beta 7b problem

I intstalled this on our server yesterday. 3355 & 3369 clients verify ok. However, whenever someone joins the server, everyone gets scanned again. It doesn't matter how many times a person joins - if you have a 10 player game, the scanning will get triggered 10 times. I'm using Di'Para's TWL settings found here.

After the game, I did notice that I still had a couple 7a references in my ini, and I've since replaced those references with 7b. Haven't had a chance to re-check it yet, but is anyone else seeing this?

Warped_Out 5th December, 2005 08:06 PM

Hey man,

I have 7B also installed and have not noticed the problem you describe yet, however, I haven't had a load of peeps in the server when I have had it up and running.

One thing is for sure though, you should have no 7A entries in your System Folder or UT2004 ini. So you might wanna just clear all SafeGame related entries out, and reload the u/ucl files in the System folder, be sure to add the Server Actor or Package, whichever you use, or both, then I usually manually add the SafeGame ini, but it will, of course generate on its own, upon boot up.

If I notice the problem you describe, I will let you know asap.

Yeah, I had to go & remove all the 7a entries (I essentially just replaced 7a with 7b). I also found a duplicate settings entry under another header... no clue how it got there. After I removed that & rebooted, everything is peachy. :)

Cruicky - THANKS DUDE!!! You ROCK!!!

Hi Cruicky,

do ya think you'll add support for the 3372? It will allow using the G15 keyboard from logitech??

I'll think there will be a lot of users in the future, so it will be worth it.

Yeah, I have the same problem with the 3372 patch. It keeps saying that I have a version of UT2K4 that SafeGame doesnt support. There is a link to the patch page if you need to look at it or something to add 3372 as a supported version.

hey I reported a bug too, no replies. I guess Cruicky really isn't interested in this stuff anymore.

I like its interface but the initial check in the beginning blocks players from joining the game in a timely fashion. Apparently it's hard-coded into SafeGame so it's not an option available for deactivation.

We're switching back to AntiTCC due to players' dislike of SafeGame. Still, I'd really love to see this thing updated so it's player-friendly.

you will be waiting for ages. Just wait till UT3 is out and some new anti cheats are made

Anti TCC does use black lists to stop cheaters and it does help
