Default Playing UT with Ubuntu linux... problem reconnecting

Finally got to where I can play on a server with UT on Linux (I noticed that most of the posts in here are about servers using linux, didn't see any place to post problems with playing on a linux box, sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but if Ubuntu takes off the way it looks like it might, then get ready for more questions from server admins wondering why people using ubuntu might be having problems...), anyway, I can play, but once a map is over, I can't do anything unless I turn UT off, then back on again.

And it just does that over and over until I turn off my machine. No option to disconnect, and trying to open location does not good either. It's as if the server won't let go until I turn my ut off entirely.

What is the extra data I wonder?

I'm using this http://files.filefront.com/ut+instal.../fileinfo.html to install UTGOTY, in case it makes any difference.

I'd upgrade to 451, that did wonders for my linux client.

I use 436 and never had this problem. But a problem I do have is certain maps crashing it.
So if you are a serious gamer I would recommend dual booting with windoze. Frame rate is better too I find.

You know, I have my router set so that I can set up a UT server. I wonder if that would have any effect on my connection?

It shouldn't, incoming packets will knock on closed ports on your pc instead of on the router.

well, when I was playing 2k4, I had the router set up like that, and I had reconnect problems. when I diabled it, it stopped. Wierd, but it did. I'll try it tonight anyway.

Obsidian never tell me about 451 ... when I installed it on my linux client, half of servers were acting weird, for example a huge lock happened after a conection to a pure server.

It wasn't the router. And it's not just our server. I read the readme file that came with it (imagine that), and it said to update to the newest bonus pack so that I can play on most servers. I suppose that's the 436 that's in downloads here, and not 440. I'm going to try that and see what happens. Should I try 440?
