I tried to setup a demo server on an OSX box.

No matter what I tried, I never was able to get the map Orbital2 to appear in the map list, and the admin ini settings also seem to be ignore (I always have to specify them on the command line).

Anyone can help?

I'm not completely sure about this, but with the Linux version the game will use the config files stored in the user's home directory, unless you start it with -nohomedir.

So try starting the server with -nohomedir on the commandline

Well as far as the config files are concerned, the ucc-bin uses ~/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo/System/UT2003.ini by default.

Most options are read properly, save the admin/pass combo, but nothing to make Orbital2 work.

Orbital doesn't work for me as well - there was a bug relating to this in the Linux/Win32 version of the demo as well. Apparently the fix hasn't made it to OSX...

Admin stuff is easy: add the following line to the [Engine.GameInfo] section of your UT2003.ini:

AccessControlClass=XAdmin.AccessControlIni

You can then login to the web admin with Admin/Admin and change login name and password there or in the newly created XAdmin.ini file.

What I'm most pissed about though is that I can't connect to my OSX server from my WinXP client - I get "Incompatible Game File: XWeapons.u" errors.

Obviously, since the latest PC retail version is 2225, and the demo is 2206. If you get the latest PC/Linux demo (2206), you'll have no problems connecting (I've had several Windows players join on my server).

Thanks for the admin tips.

Well, acording to this: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums...hreadid=264130, full version clients should be able to connect to demo servers.

What's also really weird about this error message is that the invalid MD5 that's logged on the server neither matches the MD5s for XWeapons.u on ther server nor on the client.

Odd... Have you tried to register your server with the Epic server? That should make the server grab the latest MD5s.

On a related topic, do you see the Orbital2 map in the map list for CTF game type? I certainly don't, even though Orbital2 actually rotates!
