Default New Admin here. Having startup issues

Hey there folks. I used to play UT a lot back when it originally came out 15 years ago or so. I am getting back into it for nostagic reasons. Also I want to teach my kids a bit of linux by running a UT server for them. Issue is I cannot start the thing. I get the following error over and over.

ucc.init
Starting Unreal Tournament: bash: ./ucc: Permission denied

The logs only mention "soft start". The lock file gets a different PID # each time while lock.8 PID remains the same. All files in the ut-server directory are owned by the user trying to start the game. Even trying to start with sudo has the same issue. Thinking it may be a file needs to be executable but isn't and not sure which it could be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
