ZPPure Headshot Bug
I was wondering if the UTPure team would consider fixing the headshot bug in ZP for the next release (if there is one)
In ZP u can headshot a player whether they are crouched or not, when in regular UT it is not like that. It's the one bug that makes ZP totally useless for skilled players who have learned to crouch and avoid headshots, and instead we just get bugheadshotted every time.

So there are no skilled ZP players then?

It'd be nice to see the headshot bug fixed in ZP - also the enlarged hitshot area that we seem to feel with it. Also the non-hit bug when stood slightly behind a wall of solid object.
I think ZPPure is still the best ZP, though.

To be honest i think it's good that you can headshot someone who is crouching.
Just walk up behind him and you can see his/her head. So why shouldn't you be able to make a headshot if a player is crouching?

And that's probably why UTIII was a relative flop. New game, same sh*thead players ^^.

We allready got problems with players who disable mouselook. I consider it cheating, and I will ban for it if I see it.

AntiTweak 3.4 can stop it to an extent (toggling, I think).
There are one or two private protections that deal with it too. I'd also ban for it if I found it in use on a public server.

well aimin higher than the head on a crouched player in zp gives u a headshot
but no zp has a problem too. U can't give a crouched player a headshot whether u aim right where the head is, or above it. I grew up playin it, but that bug's not so great.

I think this is actually by design. You get a headshot on the top third of the body when a character is standing because vital nerves and veins are exposed, whereas a crouched character is hunched up and the muscles around the neck are tense. This is the way I see things but it is illogical that a direct hit doesn't do the same damage. This has been fixed in UT2004 where only the head itself is in the headshot zone.

How would you find out about it ? I'm sorry but I'm quite skeptical that you can see this as a player on the receiving end. I've seen what can be done with such a bind in instagib on a map like w00t. In such a case I would consider it as outright cheating.

It's pretty easy to catch those who toggle it with the private protections I talked about, I think even AntiTweak logs the togglers.
But it's also easy to see in game when a user respawns with mouselook still off, they are always pointing toward the ground, yet still have the ability to headshot (sniper) or body shot (insta etc.).
Even easier to see via 1st-person spec too.

Yes. The headshot zone is much smaller though.

The thing is, in regular UT you can't do it so that's how it should be in ZP.
And yes, it takes more skill to have to move your crosshair down and go for body shots if you have to, rather than leaving your crosshair at head level all the time knowing you get instant headshot whether they crouch or not.

Yes, that's right. I always find it comical when I'm confronted by a seemingly good player and they suddenly seem lost when I crouch down (probably cursing at their bind not working ^^).
