You actually use "ucc" to compress the files and what not.

Just type:

ucc compress [path to file file name]

You will have to be in the System Dir of the UT2004 Dir.

Sounds easy enough. I'm in the System dir of 2k4, and the command fails with tcsh: ucc: Command not found.

Here's some sample output:

Code:
% pwd
/Applications/Games/Unreal Tournament 2004.app/System
Code:
% ucc compress /Volumes/files/Documents/DesktopDownloads/UT2k4_stuff/Maps/DM/DM-Campgrounds2004-G1E_Folder/DM-Campgrounds2004-G1E.ut2
tcsh: ucc: Command not found.
and for laughs, a map right in the UT folder:

Code:
% ucc compress /Applications/Games/Unreal\ Tournament\ 2004.app/Maps/AS-Convoy.ut2
tcsh: ucc: Command not found.
Thanks for any help. I'm sure I'm just not knowledgeable enough.

Two things:
- In Linux the current directory is not part of the path (it's a security thing)
- The program is called ucc-bin in 2k4 not ucc

So you should use:
# ./ucc-bin compress <path to map>

The compressed file wiill probably end up in a hidden directory
called .ut2004 in your homefolder

Thanks, Zi. That did the trick. In OS X the resultant .uz2 file wound up in my Application Support > System folder, and was visible. Oddly enough the resultant folder it resides in exactly mirrors the folder structure from whence the original file came. So it wound up in Application Support > System > Volumes > <volume name>, etc., etc., etc.,
