Default Server UT99 problem under linux

Hello.

I have a server Unreal Tournament under Linux host, and last days i got a weird problem.

The server some times "disappears" from browser server list, and cannot be queryed. Only with Open Location can join in the server and when join all seems be normal. The logs dont show errors. After some time, the server come again as "normal" and can be listed and queryed. Seem that when people are playing, the problem behinds.

_The server version is 451 bfor linux.
_Server Packages and Actors seems are fine.
_I am using UTPure RC7C and UTDC 1.8.
_I did replace all ut 451b files for new 451b files, but stiil the weird problem.

Delete your Server and User.ini and Try to install Patch 436 for linux.

I have the exact same problem and it's bugging the hell out of me since ppl wont even know my server exists tell me Mauser, does it show efter you restart your server?cus it does for me. It's as soon as it changed a few maps or something that it disapears
Anyone know what's the cause of this and how to solve it?I'd rather prefer to keep the 451v if possible...

Hey, finally i put a cleaned ut436 version, absolutly new, and now work fine.
The problem was with a corrupted, (i think), 451 version.

Solution for my was: delete entire System folder server and put a new server Lunix 436.

But is weird, because my 451 works fine for long time. Maybe the entire host was having some ports problems, or the host miss some Linux system libraries, because in this time, my UT server was moved to another Linux machine and behind the problems.

Make sure that the System linux where is the UT server, ahve all needed shared libraries, and the ports are working fine. Maybe isnot a UT server problem specific.

this was happening to us too, on 2 gameserver.net servers and other servers, its a UT problem I think not server provider.

to fix it

look for [IpServer.UdpServerQuery] in the ini and see if it has these lines.

[IpServer.UdpServerQuery]
GameName=ut
OldQueryPortNumber=7088
bRestartServerOnPortSwap=True
MinNetVer=432
bTeamInfo=True

we couldnt put eurotrash on True because it restarted the server with all weps no zp no mapvote etc and we couldnt edit the startup parameters.


if it was false though, the query port changed, usually +5 - this is a UT bug I think, but it stops the server showing in favorites etc, the only way I could stop it changing, was to remove everything to do with logging

which would probably stop any stat logging thats on there, it does work though

we havent had the problem since I did this on any of the servers.

I dont, i am using a "oficial" Linux server from Epic 436, at aprox 88 MB package.

Now works fine all god. Afortunatly i dont use never more 451.

We had the same problem, and the gameserver dude told us how to fix it. I was going to come in here and share, but it appears all is under control. carry on.

Oh, and right, like I'm using linux here, but we used windows for the server we used to have, and dad gum if we don't use GS now, and I'm having to learn the differences now! So expect my stupid noggin to be popping up in here more often.

I did fix a problem we were having with redirect a little while ago, though.

allowdownloads=true was slowing us down, so I changed it to false. Now we gots teh fast 1337 redirect.

Yeah I still ahve this issue after a major server crash the query port changes from 7778 to 7783.. sometimes it just randomly changes ports during a map switch.. Is ther ea real fix to this? Ive already diabled all logging as posted above and have done so for months now.. Gameservers says its a known linux bug. They state that when the server retstarts the old "process" is still running and has to be manually killed. I had added some "kill" lines tot he start up code and it helps but i still have to stop the server and restart etc..

confirmed this happens on windows servers as well. maybe the server travel pause needs to be increased? or its a mapvote issue?
