Yes for each of the 30 GameType's.. you have the Ability to use Custom Logo's and Sound's.

Which is why I need to Update the Main Page Again .

@rev... first you select the gametype... then when server restarts.. select map.. we are looking to resolve this in the future maybe..
test on our server first post.. extract the MapVoteX101*.u
load on your server.. it should spawn the mapvotex.ini
i may release the beta for testing soon..
this version still buggy.
um.. @chamberly... not sure what you mean ?
our system is unique to other voting systems.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how to describe it unless Dizzy can provide the technique how it is done. Here is my thought... for example, on Dizzy's mapvote system, it download a database file to update the client's mapvote with the current list of mapvote that is hosted on the server.
So when the client connect to the server, it have to have the current database file or it will download the new database and you would have to wait until it finished downloading and then it will tell when it is done and so u can open the mapvote.
(Unlike regular mapvotela13, where you can just put the map in the list or w/e and it will show up like that when u bring up the mapvote.)
So is MapvoteX will be like the regular mapvote? Non-download?

funnily you should say that..
this was something we discussed doing actually in the early stages.
dizzy seems to be trying to get around a common problem in the UT1 engine.. which is not easily solvable..
however sp0ngebob may have stumbled across the answer which he details in ABM..

been asked a few times how/why Maps don't load immediately after selecting GameType.
in Short I knew this was going to be a problem from get go.. however due to the Nature of the UE1 Engine and it's poor Netcode.. This cannot be achieved easily.. as many MapVote builders have discovered..
one Method which sounds promising is the one implemented into Nexgen.. which Defrost discovered long ago I believe.
My own Idea's in Respect to these things is.. to somehow utlize external methods for sending / recieving information to clients.. and or the use of ServerPackages to transfer the 'Data' to clients in compressed form.
however this poses several problems of course.
ie; how to dynamically compress / upload (from server - redirect) files before setting the ServerPackages=DataXX and sending to Clients.
perhaps there is something to this ^
ok back onto how this MapVote Works.. (currently).
Firstly you select a GameType.. [Vote]
if you are the only one on the server.. then it will Switch to that Gametype.
then if you open MapVote !v you will see all the Map's for that gameType loaded in the lefthand column. (Limited to 220 Maps per GameType (30) = 6,600 Maps) at present.
now this system sounds a little odd.. I agree.. however what tends to happen is players.. tend to play 1 GameType for a bit longer before switching to a new one.
so for example.. you may have DeathMatchers on between 12-1pm they select .. "DeathMatch - GameType" and then Everytime they open their MapVotes.. the Maps Listed will pertain to .. 'DeathMatch' , then later if say someone who like's CTF joins.. they will vote 'CTF' and the Server Will Reload with all the CTF Map's for that GameType.
Now the "Whole Revolutionary" "Map Loading system" is Different to Anything out there AFAIK for the UE1 Engine... is nothing special per-se , but the technique is pretty good.
More on this later.

scroll to bottom of 'Advert' and click on the GameTracker logo .. open's UT into Server
or click "MapVoteX" logo in my sig.

*also.. for MultiPlay Customers.. we have built a whole new / different MapLoading System into MapVoteX which will allow you to also use it if you want to.
We are working with MultiPlay Right now to help make the transition ;
a) possible
b) useable.
c) have the ability to do everything Power Admins can do and more.
so yes.. busy busy..
ETA for release.. well .. if all the 'known bugs' have been ironed out and I can get some tut's done up hopefully next week..
however we may work through with our beta testers first and see if they can install it firstly.. and then .. if no problems we go LIVE.

These tutorials should save you alot of time and energy..
see the .doc's for more info.. uploading and building as I go.

ok.. would seem we have encountered another bug.
this is in regards to BT gametype.. basically atm this gametype and i suspect other gametypes with their own map prefixes- need to be looked into..
also a few other behind the scenes things have been fixed / added to the mix.
so we are delayed a few more days until we fix these things.

I think that we've fixed the ptoblrm which was to do with the Prefix 'CTF-BT-*' which caused the maps not to display in the maplist..
ok now.. not sure if i mentioned this yet.. but we've also had to reduce the amount of maps in each list.. and therefore overall.. we have come down to 6000.
which means 200 maps for each GameType configured.
So although there is support for 6000 maps.. you will need to be creative in how you setup your servers..
for example.. if you have 2000 BT maps.. that would require 10 gametypes.. maybe named 'BT-(1-200),BT-(201-400), etc..
or 'BT Top 200'.. or something.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE..
This system does not allow for instant 'map/gametype' voting.. players must vote collectively a gametype .. then the server will switch to a map selected by the admin for that gametype.
after that you can open MVX .. and then choose .. any map from the list for that gametype.
