If possible, how about a page that would allow someone to check a hash to see if it's been banned on UTAN or not. This way, a potential buyer could request a hash off someone selling UT2004 on Ebay.

And that's probably why UTIII was a relative flop. New game, same sh*thead players ^^.

Nice idea, but if the person selling on ebay is a botter, what makes you think they would give you a real hash?
Also, with the number of people buying there, the seller would most likely just ignore your request.

Are you yourself capable of faking a hash ? It's possible to see if a hash results from a fake cd key so not everyone is capable of that. Also, I wouldn't buy from someone who couldn't give that information as a working cd key is part of the game.

I would not need to fake one, I have access to well over 12 thousand legitimate hashes.

Besides, if there are CD key generators, would'nt you get a "legitimate" hash from one of those?
It may not be legit as far as the master server was concerned, but how would you check that?

I doubt very much any regulars here would buy any used copy, and like I said
there are so many people buying from ebay, they would sell it one
way or the other anyway.
Even if I was selling a full legal, un banned copy, I would not supply a hash to
someone who wanted it. Why would I waste my time? Unless the purchaser was willing to pay a premium for a guaranteed unblemished key there would always be someone else who would buy it.
And since you can get it at bargain prices in the stores now, who would pay
a premium from ebay?

Ok, so a simple form for checking hashes is completely useless. You're the boss <o/ ...
