Hya all! I created a serverlogo, that u can see when u connect to my server.
But there is one thing that i can't get to work...
I want the serverlogo transparant... so that u only see my fonts, and not the white space around it.. (like the server: Xanton's instarumble)
How can i do this ? I know that i can use dds files and bmp files buttah when i import my bmp into unrealed... the logo isn't transparant.. ? What do i have 2 do ?

Cya !

Hmm, making transparant logos can be more of an art than science depending on what graphics software you have.

The "secret" is in being able to modify your image's pallet so that the first color in the pallet is the one you want to be transparent. How you do that is highly dependant on your software. I think there's a photo shop addin that can make this easy. Do a search on Unreal Transparant Textures to find it. Other software may let you order them by most used (I do this with MacroMedia Fireworks to get it to work). Some create the pallet based on first used, etc. I've gotten this to work by doing a box with the transparant color first, then pasting the logo into it. The final method is if you've got stuff that lets you change a color in the pallet, this can work but be carefull that you don't end up with "spots" in the middle.

OK, you've got your image done and saved as a PCX file (BMP probably works, but PCX is UT standard..sigh). When you import it, make sure the "masked" option is checked.

If everything worked fine, you should have a transparent logo.

Read the "creating flags.txt" of this mutator: http://www.unrealadmin.org/forums/at...2&d=1133030268

It tells you how to prepare graphics for UT [obviously ignore the specifics about filenames to use etc.]. Bottom line: just make sure you save the file as transparent! The way I do it is first save the graphic as a transparent GIF, then re-open and save as a PCX.
