Default ucc-bin compress segmentation fault?

Hey, I'm sort of a linux n00b...I can run UT servers fine on Windows, but I'm just starting to learn linux and UT servers was the easiest place to start.

The first time I did ./ucc-bin compress ../Animations/*.ukx , it started doing the compressing thing, but after about halfway through it aborted and gave me some error (that I should have written down, sorry.) Now, when I do ./ucc-bin compress anything, it says Segmentation Fault, with nothing else. Can someone tell me what this means and what I should do to make it work again?

Thanks a bunch.

I noticed you gotta be root to compress files. Don't know why though. :p

Use TinyUZ2 to compress your files.

No you don't. I never run anything UT related as root and I can compress stuff just fine. I have come across maps that ucc-bin won't compress though. Don't know what that is about.

Well, I'm using the -lanplay switch now, so I don't need to worry about compressing files for a redirect

I think I'm just about set for this LAN...except I have no headphones. Being the only UT server guru there, I'm going to surprise them with some games...and summon some secret cars when no one's watching
