Question I can't connect to UT99 servers!

Hello guys,

I've been playing Unreal-Engine games since Unreal 1 and since I downloaded the UT3 Demo I wanted to get used to the old movement again. So I reinstalled Unreal Tournament again and tried to join public TDM servers. But it won't let me join on most of them. Downloading the mutators etc works just fine but then it just says "CONNECTING" and that's it.

I'm using v436, might try v451 but I doubt that this would do the trick since minimum compatible versions are always v432 (referring to the ingame browser). I also installed all the bonus packs.

The logfile just tells me the following **** but I don't have a clue what the error is. Maybe anyone of you can help me.

Not sure if this is why, but alot of servers today are useing an anticheat called UTDC, you should get a prompt box telling you that a utdc.dll file is needed to play on the server and there should be an install button to install it. Utdc wont allow v432 only v436 up can join.
Some times the prompt box doesnt show, you can try pushing esc to see if it shows or if you know what version of utdc the server is useing you can download the utdc. zip file for the version you need and manually install it.

Hmmmm no, I know about UTDC, downloaded v1.8 and v2.0 and if I dont have anything thats needed it is downloading everything. Thats not the problem.

have you tried to remove your user and ut .ini
I don't think you have something blocking the incoming traffic but check your firewall, router...

The newest version of utdc is v2.0c, ut can hang at connecting if you play on a v2.0 server and then try to join a v1.8 or v2.0b or 2.0c server.
You have to shut down ut and restart it.

Are you using a default skin?
I've seen some players cannot join some servers due to the skaarj hybrid skin, i'm goin to post on this...I've just recently seen it. Not sure if it could happen with another skin or not.

mite be bonues packs causing the prob? install this
http://ut-files.com/UT%20Demo/UT99-Demo.zip
after you installed DO NOT RUN IT patch it straight away with this without runing
http://ut-files.com/Patches/UTPatch436nodelta.exe

that should be a complete install with no BPs etc after ur done patching run it and try to connect

I dont think he needs to install the ut demo and patch it to 436, he obviously has the full game already
