Default PHP UT Server Query v2

This is a small PHP script written by Almar Joling which allows you to query a UT server remotely. It will show various caracteristics such as the gameversion, the server name, the current map being played, the gametype, the number of players, etc. as well as showing a current list of players present on the server.

And that's probably why UTIII was a relative flop. New game, same sh*thead players ^^.

PHPUA is a nice alternative as it allows you to add plugins so you can query different types of game servers. If anyone finds a similar basic script for UT2004 servers, don't hesitate to upload it here .

ASP can't open sockets to query UT servers and therefor needs to use a DLL-component (for example, Winsock wrapped in an ActiveX object in VB) in ASP.

I thought I saw a VB6 version of such UT query somewhere, this could be ported to ASP, which still needs the DLL. I'll try to find it (probably at www.planetsourcecode.com or smt)

Note that installing/registering custom components like DLL's isn't always permitted by the ISP.

let's just say i know ppl or the people, btw thanks for your help, i might try creating it i'll get back to ya'll if i succeed

edit: you're probably talking about something like this http://www.planetsourcecode.com/vb/s...2087&lngWId=10 i'm not sure if it supports Unreat Tournament, but says it supports Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004 ... now it'd be a crime not to support Unreal Tournament

Well, most of the time if something supports Unreal Tournament, it will support Unreal Tournament 2004 and vise versa. Since UT and UT2k4 use the same query.

Forgot to add, that this also is the same with any game built with the Unreal engine.

Not allways true. Both use the same engine, but the way of querying is a litle different

Just tried to install this script but it would seem that it is no longer working , perhaps due to the change in master servers.. I don't know :\

have contacted them to see if there is a fix or what ever...

also asked if they coudl make a plugin for 2k4 , be interesting to see what they say after 1/2 decade.

can't seem to get this silly thing to work ...

have posted in their forums but well ... same response as here .. nil

here is a section of plugin_gs_query.php that i assume the problem lies in but cannot quite figure out what it is;

Quote:
<?php

// $Id: plugin_gs_query.inc,v 1.2 2004/02/26 09:05:36 mad-x Exp $
// Created by Kris Splittgerber ([email protected])

// Gamespy Query Protocol.

class plugin_gs_query {
var $_ip;
var $_port;
var $_socket;
var $_timeout;

function plugin_gs_query($ip="127.0.0.1", $port)
{
global $phpUA;
$this->_ip = $ip;
$this->_port = $port;
$this->_timeout = $phpUA["CONFIG"]["TIMEOUT"];
}

function connect()
{
if ($this->_socket = @fsockopen("udp://" . $this->_ip, $this->_port, $errno, $errstr, $this->_timeout)) return true;
return false;
}
.
.
I had a look into the fsockopen fucnction which went on to explain that the firewall maybe blocking the connection but .. Dunno

anyone got any ideas on this and/or actually got it to work?

more info on fsockopen here

I assume it is to do with the function connect()...

*just tried testing the almar version as well and it seems to not proceed past the submission button , but rather recurses back to the same place .. will test on another server and see what happens..

*edit , nope that one don't work either.... *picks up shovel*
Cheers

Ask your website host if the necessary ports are open.

aha... figured as much , yo skillz are the ports open mate lmao?

would be kinda awkward if say ... the servers are on different ports from the std , like port 9710 or something like that...

what method did Mathew use for universal Unreal ?, as that seems to work just fine , perhaps he found a better method of querying the servers...

This script works fine, I have it working on ut-files.com.

http://news.ut-files.com/query/

I also believe GF-REX has a version he's edited on onp.ut-files.com as well.
