hi im from utd Unreal Tournament Demo
i was wondering if u could make a up2 date cheat protection 4 us:d

we r using CHSP right now but still the botters get in

What version of CHSP are you using ? The standard one or the custom one made by Bee-nUTcase ?

I see. Well I think Hoser stopped updating his version of CHSP. Try getting CSCC if you can as it has some extras that will deter some botters. If you want nUTcase's e-mail address, send me a PM.

That's a shame as that version uses a pretty ingenious idea. Unfortunately, nUTcase won't be updating it and Hoser abandoned his version of CHSP because there doesn't seem to be a way of checking file integrity like on FV.

sigh... move to full version no reason to still play the demo
cheat protection there was always bad. its a very old engine to start with

Hey Spank, nice to see someone else besides me asking about demo in here....

If I could just figure out a way to interrupt the SendBinary after it's transfered the first 255 bytes of a file, I've got something that is as good as md5, since byte hacking the basic .u files usually involves a recompile of the .u file and will typically change the headers in some significant way.

An external solution (QValidate, UTDC) is just not possible for demo, so I need to find a native solution.

My CSHP blocks Helios 3.3 and I have some of teh source code that was used for 3.4. My PackageChecker mod checks menu mods, keybinds and of course packages. My BHD mod checks the other mods for byte hacking that would disable them. All my mods are obfuscated using UTObfuscator10. This is the current state of cheat detection in demo.
