Default UT3 Dedicated Server

Has anyone found out how to spawn a dedicated server from the beta demo files? The structure is completely different. Obviously UCCMake doesn't work. The only binary I see that could be used is UT3Demo.exe and all the arguments I use just crash the game.

If someone figures this out, please do share!

Game also has no documentation on it.

No support for dedicated server. And no Linux executables. Pretty lame.

Found the command line for dedicated server:
UT3Demo.exe server DM-Shangrila -login=<login name> -password=<password>

But you still need 1) Windows, 2) Be able to install game on the remote computer. Congrats admins! You're screwed!

I think the official release time for this was 3pm EST. The dedicated server pieces may come out then or soon after. Just a theory.

Yeh, nobody was able to install it neither on Win2k3 nor Win'XP dedicated servers. And it looks like it's just impossible. Wonderful.

Can anyone test this.
I know it was for the install, but wondering if it could be applied as a workaround here?

a) you need the VC++ 2005 SP1 Redist (as that fixes the application has been installed incorrectly error)

Testing the above on one of my 2k3 servers at home, but with the file upload going, it's painfully slow.
Do you have a copy of the game files on a fast link somewhere?

Further,
DX Web setup fixed the missing dll file error.
Now it's complaining that Modified executable code is not allowed.
I'm guessing this is due to some registry entries. Can anyone post a .reg file that has the ones that the demo creates?

Mehthinks that Epic hardcoded the hashes of XP/Vista's low-level system libraries into the demo, in order to crack down on bottage. However, they "forgot"/neglected to include the hashes of W2K3 Server SP2 system libs.

Without wishing to sound confrontational, I think you're wrong

I actually get a dedicated server window popping up on my 2k3 box now it's got the VC++ and the DX10 installations done, but then it drops out and I can't see what's causing it.

Will uninstall & then reinstall on a PC with wininstall running so I can see what registry entries are changed.

SP2 level? Btw check the logfile for the error.

I have created an account on my home pc and am now uploading the raw files to my box. Am going to try to installing 2k4 server on an ip and then erase all the files and drop these in and and use my cp argument line to drop in the command lines I see posted here in order to see I can get a ded working in 2k3 server.

I will post my results make take awhile just under 3 hours to upload still..

OK,
I've finally convinced my 2k3 server to install using the EPIC .exe file.
Will update if a 'native' install makes any difference shortly.
