I think at least one of the TSU servers is linux, and Qvalidate only works on windows servers

Still some bugs in it from what I've heard:
  • weaponswitchsounds are missing sometimes (again just with multiple-switchweapon-bindings? could be)
  • Findflag doesnt work properly anymore
  • warmup seems not to be working as it should, I haven't experienced that myself but ppl asked me to post that "the game begins too fast, without a warning the countdown starts, it's not as comfortable as ttm in ut2k3 is".
  • autopause defaulttime is 1 minute? (again, I haven't experienced that myself yet, relata refero) however, 1 minute is too few and not suitable for league matches, the defaulttime was 5 (10 max). i cant find the option to change the default-pausetime either, it would be nice to have a useful default-setting here, speaking as a league-admin, it's always problematic if ppl first have to change a lot of things to have the utpure-settings set to what league-rules say.

autopauze is configurable in ini or int, but when i put my options into int file, then it did nothing and i still needed to change all inis (i have 4 inis for few leagues)

set it to true if you want to use autopause in tournament mode, it will also add that section robus posted once you restart it after doing so.

ah thx a lot
i guess it wont be possible to use the normal autopause-mutator anymore (if pure-autopause is set false) ?
coz this one has the normal defaultvalues (5 mins per pause, 10 minutes per match)

I also can't get bAutoPause and bUseClickboard to work together, so i use the AutoPause mutator and the UTPure Clickboard.

as i said, UTPure7 is still not perfect as far as bugs are concerned and quite questionable in its philosophy of forcing everyone to use fws but not also including the possibility of banning it...

Can we get a pure that doesn't eff with the hud and other preferences while in-game? I'm tired of my frags and flag info hud items disappearing.

And no player join dump anymore? That wasn't very smart. Even my mother knows UTPG isn't coming out with anything soon, and she can't even turn a computer on.

Whats the purpose, guys? I mean, if these updates
can be hacked within 48 hours, why put em out? The ONLY
thing I look to PURE for is cheat protection. Mutators are
a dime a dozen, I dont need new hitsounds, or new HUDs,
I need cheat protection. If the method used by PURE continues
to be so easily hacked (within 1 day usually, from what Ive
seen) Whats the purpose? It appears to me that this
update is a step backwards, i.e. no package logging, etc.

Im sorry to complain guys, but I have become extremely
disappointed with UT the past 6 months. BOTS/RADARS
are rampid. I just hope UT2004 gets more attention in
this area, because it seems cheating has become the fad
lately, especially in UT99. I wont be updating to this new
7C version, as it appears to just be a new hype on an old
non-functional theme. Cheat protection, guys. Please.

To be fair, cheat protection is unlikely to take any big steps forward until the UTPG patch is released. TNSe has said so in so many words. My understanding is that the latest Pure release is likely to be compliant with that upcoming patch; even if you don't need to switch to it now, you'll probably want to make the move once the patch is available.

I know that it's anyone's guess when the new UTPG patch will come out, but I think we'll all just have to be patient until then. Personally, I'm holding out hope that UTPG puts out their patch right around the 2k4 release so that the cheat developers' efforts will be split.

That being said, it's hard to fault a developer for wanting to continue to improve his products, regardless of whether it's possible to change a core piece of functionality or not.

There is only so much they can do. It is not the fault of TNSe. UT was made with serious security breaches. Any noob hacker can byte hack and that is all it takes to cirumvent any cheat protection on UT right now. The UTPG patch will fix a lot of this.
At least by putting out a new and improved version of Pure we are getting something to use and not everyone knows where to get the hacked versions to use with their cheats. So it does keep some of them out.

Okk..... first of all the new pure is less laggy it fixes thing like fireadjust cheat.... the package logging was probly removed cause it was useless and just added more lag..... i very very little cought cheats in package logging... as far as hitsounds goes it can be disabled and it was in the last pure so whats the big deal?.... Pure gets hacked in a day yeah so? any other cheat can.... all the cheaters need is the .u file and i bet pure harder to hack then any other anti cheat u can come up with... cheaters don't bother hacking custom protections cause no one wants to hack every single anti-cheat if u can find something better then pure then use it... but u think running a server with out a cheat protection is better then running it with a hacked one your wrong cause it will open it up to ALOT more other hacks

One last thing if you guys REALLY wanna stop cheats use qvalidate... it has proved to be much more stable now.... and still is improving http://professorq.utpure.com <-- this WILL stop hacked pures
