Default 'CD Key is invalid.'

<pointless information>My friend is trying to run a dedicated UT2004 Linux server and we are trying to figure a problem out.</pointless information>

He has been having this strange problem trying to connect to the server. The server has a file named 'cdkey' in the system directory, yet when he connects to the server it says something to the effect of 'CD Key in use'. Oddly enough, he didnt enter a CD key to begin with. Even without the cdkey file, it still spits this problem out.

This server not hosted on the same ip address as this is a server based in the US while he lives in the UK.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I'd really appreciate it. Also, if there is a way just to get rid of the cd-key check on the server-side, I'd highly appreciate information on how to go about doing this.

Thanks.

Nevermind. We forgot to comment out a few things.

Needed to comment out the following things under [Engine.GameEngine]
--
;ServerActors=IpDrv.MasterServerUplink

Also, we needed to change the following settings under [IpDrv.MasterServerUplink] to False.
--
DoUplink=False
UplinkToGamespy=False
SendStats=False
ServerBehindNAT=False
DoLANBroadcast=False

that's not a problem with the cdkey file from the server, but a problem with the cdkey of the client (in this case the cdkey that your friend uses to run his ut2k4 game). maybe his cdkey has been stolen, or he uses a non legit copy of the game.
