I've been plying unreal tournament 2004 for a while now. When I tried to update to ver 3355 I accidentally installed the Linux version totally messing up my unreal. So I had to delete everything (noooo all the hours downloading files). So ive come to install again but I cant find my cd key (is it in the manual or box cant find either). I haven’t found an email address from Atari to ask them about this problem...and how will I prove I bought it (post a pic with me holding up my disc ;)
So if any1 could help it would be much appreciated

If you only deleted the folder and did not do an uninstall, you should still have the key in your registry. (assuming windows).
Open your registry editor and check out this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unreal Technology\Installed Apps\UT2004]
Look for a value called CD Key in the right hand pane.

Nope, not on Mac, it's windows only.
The CD key "was" stored somewhere, but I can't help you on where. :frown:

According to the email one gets when you request a dedicated server CD key For Linux and MacOS X servers, save the attached "cdkey" file and place it in your System directory. This file MUST be named "cdkey"
Perhaps the retail CD key is stored the same way.

This may be a silly question, but if you used the install media to re-install the game, didn't you see the key behind the CD in the case?

The CD Key is not always there.
It depends on what version you have and what country you purchased it in.

Ah, sorry, I wasn't aware of that. A day is not complete unless you learn something new... ;)
