Protects against: Hooking of UT99 engine

Works with Windows and Linux servers. (Tested on Linux Redhat 9.0, Fedora Core 2)

It's not a cheat. Please update to the newest version of UTDC and use the correct forums for posting UTDC logs. The newest versions of UTDC will not detect that as a cheat.

Thats the program to control hotkeys on some keyboards, keyhook.exe, so dont take it as a cheat, it has happened in my server too, im moving to laterst version now

1 of my members has been gettin false positives on several of my clans servers and other servers.

Does anyone know what triggered this, As in what running process does he have that makes him get booted all the time??

2nd log is from a laptop user who says that his laptop changed cpu speed during the game because it wasn't in "desktop mode".



In my opinion, UTDC17 is really buggy. Is there a version 1.8 already in planning? :D

BR-0 = False detection.

You will get a lot of false positives. I would have speed hack detection set to false, it will save you some logs.

well it can be done and it's quite easy too but the exploit you have to use to make such a loader can also be abused to do a lot of nasty stuff

Some utdc servers only allow windows clients. So bad luck for you, nothing you can do about that.

It's not easy to compile c++ files for Linux/Mac OS's....it's very difficult in fact unless you already happen to know a lot about coding for those systems.

plus ut99 was compiled in a old ass version of gcc wich has diff
name mangling scheme than newer versions of gcc so in order to
to make anything that works right youd need to install the old gcc ver 2.95.3 or smth

so, find how to nux /mac player can join utdc's servers ....


i make my own game in c++ with friends, called Lost ( www.lost-online.info ) and it's more easy to make a so than a dll, linux, is for devlopers, i don't understand why you say it's impossible, for me, you don't want ... so, just allow us to play with utdc, or, don't make anticheat if you don't want to do support for all systems

and, why don't you do a unreal *.u like all other anticheats ?, i think probaly because unrealengine is old, and can't do that diferantly ....

i'm very angry because there is not a lot of games compatible with nux, and, i can't play on nux ...

Uscript is useless when it comes to detecting external hacks.

Well, not useless. 7G stops 3.1 Hook, and the Latest Version of EUT blocks all the Public Released Hooks (as of the release date of EUT)

Scripting for anti-hooks is hard as hell. But UTDC is MUCH more effective and useful in the situation though, and detect far more things.

UTDC only scans for hook-based cheats. That guy might be using a UScript radar.

You should use PURE, EUT, and/or AnthChecker to try to block/scan for UScript cheats. You can also use UTDC by doing MD5 checksum validations on files such as UTMenu.u, Botpack.u, Engine.u, and UWindow.u -- this thread here (http://www.unrealadmin.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11684) contains a list of known-good MD5 checksums for these files. These files are commonly modified by cheaters to create their aimbots and radars.

I've got this on #zp.2on2 server in friday i have never cheated and never going to cheat.. but how the f*** could this happen? had winamp, mirc and msn on.. went into server.. UTDC(1.7c) was succesfully then after like 3-4 seconds my UT crashed.. tried 2 join again same happend.. but after next game i could join the server again.. first time i got this error/bug :O and i have played UT for like 4-5 years .. so this is frustrating for me.. how can i prove i did not cheat when UTDC says so? I have tweaked ini's ive got from another UT player.. can the ini's be tweaked so hard.. it will be trouble in utdc? as i said never happend before.. so what im gonna do now? reinstall? im no cheater and im proud not to be one.. but what will the others think now about this? they gonna remove me from CB? i have no reason to cheat! ive got skillz!

need a explanation of this bug/error ..

hi all

i've got problem with utdc, seems he thinks i cheat, but i obviusly i don't
i got kicked from tammy, i always play there and never had a problem.

i think there are 2 possibilities

- utdc bug

- someone got caught and the program thinks its me, i think its possible cause my provider, fastweb use internal and external ip so i share my public ip with other ppl

i would like to talk to someone who can fix this,
anyone can help me?

Probably Windows 64-bit. UTDC 1.8 doesn't work with 64-bit Windows (yet).

Yep I also have Windows 64bit and every UTDC server i play locks UT it just freezes solid and I cant do anything.

I hope in the mean time other admins arnt banning me off there servers :S, as some sort of cheater.

I have the same issue and can not play on servers i play every night because of the x64 bug. i did test on my server that memory scan set to false will allow me to play on UTDCv18.. i do not know what turning this to false will effect but i dont think it should change catching the hooks..

hopefully something that will fix this bug will be released soon

Looks like you have your own Clan Rifle that draws its own zoom.

Just all the mod to the safe draw list in UTDC.ini

Question about UTDC

I am want to use EnhancedItems and EnancheRelics. But what should i put in the traceallowlist or drawallowlist. I tried serveral options but still we where kicked from the server. Mine UTDC ini looks like this at moment.

Vern: those things are never right there is no such thing as a speed hack in ut99 since the speed of the player is determined on the server side. But all that is saying is that the cpu speed stepped down after UT was opened. Usually that happens on a laptop or a CPU that supports power saving like Althlon 64s.

Don: If you look at all of those you can see that the "Function caller" was from DoCWPv2b.DoCRifle. As long as your current rifle is named this there is nothing to worry about. However, if you recently changed the version of the gun or that doesnt match some one could have made a radar or a zoom script using that name.

when I try to do a UTDC shot on somebody (mutate utdc shot <id>), the server goes down. the error log says:

this has happened when trying to do UTDC shots a) logged in as admin b) not logged in with a shot-password c) from webadmin.

unfortunately the forum doesnt give any posts on "SIGSEGV" - I really hope someone can help me solve this :|

Hey guys!
Well, im from Brazil and my english isn't very good so I hope you can understand me.

I play Tactical Ops (a UT mod.) 3.15 version. There we mostly common use UTDC in any versions to protect our servers.
Recently I've seen a strange player on a server, and I am almost sure he uses some ilegal hook.
But the admins don't think the same I thought. They only can take screenshots with "mutate utdc shot...", and that couldn't prove anything yet. Unhappyly nobody knows how to read a log, iada iada.
A admin who had the same impression I had, search a lil' and told me that probably that player uses an common two dimensional UT2004 cheat, and that's why he is not catched by the UTDC screen.
So, I don't know if what he told me do make sense, and if this cheat will be in a log or something...
I don't know crap about this, so I came here to ask if someone can help me to "unmask" this mothafucker. :D

One of my impression short details:
- That player has an smallband connection, and he plays with 250/350 ping, but when you are against him, you can realise that "he is not playing with 300" (if you know what I mean).

That is what I can say to help you helping me for now. :D

Everyone helios also released a hook for u1. I desperately need this file recoded for u1 or will it work as is? I doubt i'd be that lucky but can somebody halp me with this idea?

Do you mean the classic Unreal by u1? If so, they still have some pretty active coders over at oldunreal.com

Yes I know :) pleasure to meet you. Nobody there has written a real fix for the hook. 227 patch basically temporarily fixes it because it forces clients to update (helioses hook is 224 base such it won't work on any othe patch) the only problem is its too easy to export and generate 227's headers so I know he will release another one in time. So I need a real hook detector for the U1 engine. Nobody at oldunreal has ever attempted this so I thought the UTDC authors would be the best place to look for help.

This will be added to the 227 patch btw and all credits will be adjusted accordingly.

Speed hacks (deliberate manipulation via the commandline) can and do happen in some mutators such as strangelove where the player can move far faster when riding a rocket.

There also seems to be some evidence a speedhack upsets the player model and makes them laggy and hard to hit, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

You're absolutely right in saying the vast majority of detected speedhacks are due to cpu throttling, though.

The author no longer updates this, though he does still visit the forums sometimes. The source has been released in the last version, UTDCv21. That'll be a good place to start.

You can also get more support/help with it if you went to the UTDC forums, they are hosted here as well.
