View Full Version : getting kicked for bind change and next fov change

Hi, congratulation for beta6. Feels better and less laggy than previous release...
Still, I've noticed a possible problem, which happened on my own server.
Because I play NW, IG and ONS, I have three sets of key binds, which I change with exec command (there are three .txt files with set input command inside them).

So, I went playing an IG Invasion and because I still had my NW bind set, I pressed the button to change to IG bind one.
One of my IG binds is fov 80 | onrelease fov 100. (Normally, I play at fov=100.)
Exact set command is set input Space myzoom, where myzoom is the Alias above (fov 80 | ecc...).

Well, then I pressed space to "zoom" (which is a pretty legal thing, i think... In ClanBase is allowed even in the rules)... and SafeGame_beta6 kicked me for aimbot activity... I tried it again and again it kicked me for same reason...

Where's the problem?

edit: I can provide SafeGame Log if needed

Probably the name "zoom" is known as an illegal keybind.

I am not sure how 2k4 works, but for UT99 there is a mutator which checks all keybinds and a keybind named "zoom" is banned there.

I think the problem lies with the fov :P . In the old days of UT, it used to be possible to zoom with any weapon using an fov bind, say fov 30.

I missed to specify that the bind works perfectly if I have that bind configuration from the start of the match... SG classifies it as "aimbot activity" only if I change configuration AND then use the "zoom" (fov changer... in legal 80-120 limits)...

That is quite odd. As long as the numbers are within what the server admin set, you should be fine.

I also tried out SafeGame6 this weekend, but it only lasted a couple of hours. I still love the program, just cant deal with the kicks and the lag. I installed it and in the very first match 3 of us were kicked for FOV. We all had ours set at 100, the min and max in the SafeGame settings was 80-120, so I just disabled the FOV check, didnt know any other way around it.

I just wanted to add that it wasnt a bind thing, for some reason safe game is having problems with FOV.

Once again Cruicky, I applaud your hard work, it just wont work for me in the current configuration.

Thanks again!

Hmm, that's nothing to do with the FOV system at all. What's your fire and altfire keybind?

Ghigo80
25th January, 2005, 12:17 AM
from my user.ini

LeftMouse=Fire
this does not change, ever

Space=AltFire
this does actually change... in IG it becomes, via -set input Space myzoom- (where myzoom is the alias... Aliases[38]=(Command="fov 80 | Onrelease fov 100",Alias="myzoom")) and becomes...
Space=myzoom

btw,
Rightmouse=Jump, always

OK, I think I might be seeing what's happening here.

have you found any solution for this problem? :idea:

'cause in official matches, like in CB Cup's, it would not be that good to let this happen... :sad:

thx!
