UT99 max serverpackages or serveractors
 
Hi,

I got a problem with our UT99 server.

Every member has his own skin so we have quite a few serverpackages loaded.

Im at a point that when i add an other serverpackage the server won't start, gives no error but just keeps rebooting in my DOS windows.

My question how to ingreese the serverpackage use and what is de max. serverpackages or serveractors that can be loaded?

We had the same problem.
And we combined all the skins into 1 package.

Isn't it possible to put more than one skin into one server package ? Require some editing/merging etc. though.

Indeed Rush...that is what we did.
We had about 15 skintexture files...utx
We extracted the pcx in those textures, imported them into 1 new utx.
And edited the INT files.

Worked great !

Can't you just all post your skins on your forum, everybody download each other's skins, then run valavatar on the server and just drop everyone's skins from the serverpackages? I'm sure that will really really really make a big difference in traffic. I can't stand going to other people's servers and seeing a gazillion packages downloading (hypocrite that I am... I have a bunch of stuff on ours, but we're beta testing weapons and stuff at present)

Isn’t it the cheat protection that limits the serverpackages?
I think it was possible to have more lines with CSHP and old versions off UTPure,
but im not sure it’s the number of lines, it’s probably something about the total size it has to calculate?
Never used QValidate, but maybe ProfessorQ knows the answer to this :)

I ran into the same problems, we have 10 ServerActors, and 54 Serverpackages, if I add one I need to lose one or one of two things happen, the server crashes, and in the log it just stops, or I have lost stuffswapper but this depends on the order of the lines I think. If anyone finds a definate number please let us all know.
We have combined skins into one pack as well, but in order to dress all the bots, I used alot, so we removed our clan skins and use Valhalla to see them.

the problem is:not allowing more then 256 charcters in serverpackages ;)

So make all names small in the serverpackages and not 27 letters long
just like my personal skin is just called [S] :D
