Seen that issue in earlier versions of ACE, also had it myself that I'd get a red box for a second or two but not experienced it since v0.6p.
Try typing ' mutate ace compattoggle ' in console and reconnect ( gets saved to your user.ini so only needed to be done once, or if you need to remove it ) see if problem disappears.
