[Release] Demo Manager v3.3
Well it took me a while but here it is. This is mainly a big stability update but I did fix some other bugs (such as the invisible flag problem) in the process. There are still a few issues (time not updating after seekto is on the top of my udemo todo-list) but this should already be a big improvement over v3.2. Full changelog since v3.2 here:
Quote:
v3.3 beta - build 2009/07/17:
* [FIXED] : Missing target info (previous fix wasn't that great)
* [FIXED] : Missing ctf messages ("You have the flag, return to base")
* [FIXED] : Another double flag bug
v3.3 beta - build 2009/07/13:
* [ADDED] : New native routine that keeps the game time and the demo time synchronized. Works during
seeking/slomo even when the game is paused.
* [FIXED] : Double flag bug
* [FIXED] : Hud messages missing after seeking
* [FIXED] : Missing target info (Pure bug)
v3.3 beta - build 2009/07/10:
* [ADDED] : You can now disable autorecording while spectating trough a checkbox in the auto-record tab
* [FIXED] : Extreme lag during demo playback (test this please)
* [FIXED] : Level Time going out of sync after seeking (experimental! please test!)
* [FIXED] : Missing hudmessages
* [FIXED] : Small bugs in invisible flag fix
v3.3 beta - build 2009/06/24:
* [FIXED] : Invisible flags in CTF based games
* [FIXED] : Downloader for missing packages either crashing or not working
* [FIXED] : UT crashing while seeking (using the seekto command). While fixing this bug I've also been able to speed up the seeking.
* [FIXED] : UT crashing when trying to view a second demo after finishing the first
* [FIXED] : Error while closing down UT after viewing a demo
* [FIXED] : Windows x64 crashes in the illegal actor cleanup routine
* [CHANGED] : Rewrote several parts of the udemo dll for three reasons:
+ The original dll did not compile using Visual Studio .Net
+ Some functions were very prone to crashes (such as the UZ Downloader/Seekto functions)
+ Some functions were not entirely platform independant
As a result of these rewrites, Demo Manager now compiles correctly on Linux. Unfortunately
Linux UT does crash while loading Demo Manager, I am currently trying to track down the cause
but I can't promise that I will get it to work
v3.2 beta - build 2009/05/20:
* [FIXED] : ServerInfo (F2) not showing
* [ADDED] : You can now type "togglestats" in console to show the smartctf scoreboard (only works for 4D)

It's annoying to have demos recorded when you join as spectator only... Something simple where we can tick "Do not record spectator games" would do
|
AnthraX would you also please add that to the next version? Also thanks for the new version, great job you're doing there!

mh thought autodemorec with demomanager would record only for non specs
anyway if pure is installed on the server just use the autorecord that comes with pure, definately doesnt record games as spec

Each time I press on the Start, Auto-Recording, Downloading tabs it freezes ut for a second (It doesn't happen on the Path tab and it didn't happen in the previous version at all)

Fixes my problem with the demo manager previously crashing to the desktop on starting a demo, n1
I do get v low fps on my own demo's (recorded with normal demo engine) after a seekto tho, with my logs flooded (4000+) with this block of messages repeated over and over again:
Code:
ScriptWarning: DemoPlaybackSpec CTF-DukuCB3.DemoPlaybackSpec0 (Function udemo.DemoPlaybackSpec.RestoreFlagArray:00CA) Accessed None
ScriptWarning: DemoPlaybackSpec CTF-DukuCB3.DemoPlaybackSpec0 (Function udemo.DemoPlaybackSpec.RestoreFlagArray:00D2) Accessed None
ScriptWarning: DemoPlaybackSpec CTF-DukuCB3.DemoPlaybackSpec0 (Function udemo.DemoPlaybackSpec.RestoreFlagArray:00DA) Attempt to assigned variable through None
ScriptWarning: DemoPlaybackSpec CTF-DukuCB3.DemoPlaybackSpec0 (Function udemo.DemoPlaybackSpec.RestoreFlagArray:009F) Accessed None
ScriptWarning: DemoPlaybackSpec CTF-DukuCB3.DemoPlaybackSpec0 (Function udemo.DemoPlaybackSpec.RestoreFlagArray:00A7) Attempt to assigned variable through None

Those errors mean there's some missing objects. They probably account for the low fps.

Yes, demos seem to break with EUT. Will try to fix that today. I'll also add that "don't record as spectator" checkbox and fix the accessed nones that cause low fps.

Thanks for your efforts.
Since you're reading this topic but might not have time to deal with private messages, what do you think of the possibility of adding something to demo manager that interpolates player and projectile locations at low slomo speeds ?
It's for movies so it's not important. Would that be possible ? I mean, it would depend on how regularly ticks update things. Maybe it's nonsense but I was thinking of something along the lines of saving positions at slomo 1 and calculating/correcting locations at lower slomo values.
Reply by PM with your thoughts on this if you can.

with this new demo manager, when i record a demo on a v451 server, without pure or utdc. none of the deaths/talking/caps etc shows on screen in the upper left corner, only in the console. is this intentional for v 3.3?

And some more bugs fixed! Killereye, could you send me a demo and tell me how I can reconstruct that problem? I've tested several demos/settings with the latest build and all of them worked fine.
