Basically i've been having problems finding out how to make my server recognise symbols found the in the character map.

Such as: £ ñ ¤ § ect.


If someone could explain i'd be greatful

What's the problem exactly ? Do you mean that fancy symbols you can type up appear as boxes on your server ? That's probably normal and simply means your server is running on linux.

There is a partial workaround but it's a hack more than anything (at least according to it's author). More information can be found here :
