UT3 Admin Central Player Database
Sence my friend has many servers, I created something for him that automatically queries his servers, and lists his players in a database.
http://file077.dyndns.org/uhax/
I invite all UT3 admins to check this out.
If you sign up, you will have access to search players, see how many servers they play on, and what their aliases are

I'm pretty sure players are gonna be pissed that you are publicly posting their Name, IP, ID, and Hash...
Why are you using a dyndns.org address? Seems very sketchy

Hmm...
For 1: Player names are public already.
For 2: IP addresses are already viewable many, many ways, even in message boards and most chat clients
For 3: Unique ID's are just a random encryption of the Players Name and Hash, and NOTHING malicious can be done with the players Unique ID.
For 4: The Hash is a un-decryptable Encryption of UT3's Key. Nothing malicious can be done with the Hash.
If a player gets pissed off, as you said, then they are simply ignorant of the facts I just listed above.
Besides, this isn't for players, it is for us administrators. Haven't you ever wanted to ban someone but by the time you logged into your web admin they left your server? How exactly did they spell their name? "{}<0~~~foo" is hard to remember once you don't have it in front of you. With this system in place the admin can search for "foo" and find that user, and their hash. Also see any aliases they use, and if they have been banned on other servers, and how many.
Seems fishy? I am one of the admins at Hedsteem. I have been for 3 years now. We are the number 1 VCTF server, under epic. Our servers ranks 3rd world wide. Do you really think I would do something to tarnish my name?
Lastly, dyndns.org is for a changing IP, because I run this from my server, in my house. Tell you what, you send me 80 bucks so I can host this for a year on some hosting company, and I will pay for a real domain name.

Someone on the Epic forums agrees with me - cause they deleted your post there.
Hedsteem.com - why don't you host it there?

Naw, it wasn't coming up cause I lost power here and my server didn't restart.
Epic deleted the post because they said I was "Soliciting" and they don't allow soliciting. I am not sure how the hell they think that was soliciting of any sort,.. but apparently 11 other of us admins agree with me cause they are using it daily.
Out of curriousity, who is Luigi Auriemma and what does he/she have to do with anything?

Why not on Hedsteem.com?
A few reasons. I am a server admin, not the site owner. The site belongs to a Hard Rock band in Roanoke VA. Sorry, but you can only run one site from a domain name. Additionally, hedsteem.com runs phpnuke, this is a completely different system.
Also, it would be a conflict in interest. Because my software logs into the other admins servers, to pull stats, there is no issue with bugs messing things up. This isn't a patch to apply, this is "you leave your server as is" and a read only operation. However, having said that, since my server does end up using other admins user names and passwords, I am keeping it locked down for security purposes.
Like my first post says, this is something I did for a friend. I invite other admins to join, because it is useful.

I have no problem with my hash being on this list. This was created to benefit the admins of ALL UT3 servers. You act like he has an malicious motive, which I can attest to that he doesn't. You act like you have a chip on your shoulder against either Hedsteem or Pendragon himself.
We had someone that we were suspicious of, come to find out, after we banned him of course, that he'd been banned from numerous servers for botting. I understand this doesn't warrant an auto-ban, but at least it raises a red flag to keep an eye on them.
The main reason behind this is to help curb cheating, since there is absolutely no server side cheat protection for UT3 at this moment.

He's the guy that wrote the recent server exploits for UT3.

Agreed, although for message boards these aren't usually public. However, you're putting players with static IPs at risk of an attack.

This is technically possible. Statistically unlikely (more or less depending on the hash used), but still possible.

Ask the numerous UT2k4 players whose GUIDs were 'stolen'...

hmm.. beeing ut99 admin this has nothing to do with me, but i realy don't think that by clicking a link:
http://file077.dyndns.org/uhax/modul....php?key_id=53
anyones IP adress should be made public. I generaly like the idea, but you should keep the data unavailable for all others but the admins who have signed up for using the tool. This is just one other reason for me to NOT play UT3. Not that my IP is that much of a secret, but the idea of making it public is not to my taste.

I've posted a list of servers subscribing to pendragon's service on dirrtyclan's forum (which I will attempt to keep updated)... avoid these servers and you won't end up on the 'public' list.

The GUID's were stolen, but the Hash is an encryped representation of the GUID. And the UniqueID is a just encrypt(HASH + Player Name) so one person may have many UniqueID's. So don't let the name "Unique ID" fool you. There isn't anything unique about it per player. One player might have 6 unquie ID's.

And you still think it's ok to list peoples IP adress in public?
People who have static IP might consider it a violation of their private data? In some contries it may even be illegal to publish without reason. You see, just because you have a reason to publish it still doesn't make sence to publish the IP of a player who just wants to have fun and doesn't know what you are doing with their data?
You know of two words: privacy & respect?
surely post data on cheaters, but come on, don't post ip's of all players in public space. close it for public and only let in the admins who use it.

In the future, I will have some time to do some more work on this site, at which point I will be moving this information into a Admins only section. And I will create a way for us to verify that the user is an admin, so we are not just giving anyone access to these player's info. In the mean time, I have been very busy handling some personal medical issues, but should be able to get to this in a few weeks.

well done pendragon, qudos for thinking ahead and taking the initiative m8
The concerns that creep about here are of course valid , have merit but I Think that your admin page looks good and the information is it automatically updated? Great Job , I see today , some 6months later it is still running and has accumulated some 76 Pages full of Players .
Good One.
Wises.

To be fair, Epic delete loads of stuff from their forums. I wouldn't hold that against anyone (because they deleted mine too...)
FWIW, as I understand it, IP's are not considered private data in the EU, but IANAL etc...
