hi online,
i tried to run this mut several times, but i cant get it run for some reason.
i followed the description, copied the files in ut/system folder.
i added the mutator call in ucc.exe
i added the serverpackages entrie in THAUX.ini instead of UNREALTOURNAMENT.ini, because i run THIEVERY, which is a MOD for UT.
ucc and the serverlogs say anticamper is running, but nothing happens, i can stand still and do nothing for about one hour, and nothing happens. what might i have done wrong?

You need to add it to the unrealtournament.ini file !! Even though you want to run it on an additional UT mod.
When you have added it to the unrealtournament.ini file, restart your server.
Now you can select this mutator (with webadmin or load it with console commands) for the standard game types, but it hasn't been tested with other yet

It still dont work, also the Logs say that AntiCamper is loaded and running.
I put the Serverpackages Line in UnrealTournament.ini AND in ThAux.ini, after that i put it ONLY in UnrealTournament.ini. On all that Variations the Serverlogs and the Console show up that AntiCamper is loaded and running, also nothing happens on standing still.
Is there another Thing i might do wrong?
Please btw, what is the CampTime and CampRadius counting?
Minutes and Steps?

AntiCamper is a mutator, if you had read the readme.txt file in the compressed archive you had known this.
Because it is a mutator, you'll have to load it.
You can load it with the webadmin or with the console commands.
WebAdmin:
Goto the "mutator" menu. Select AntiCamper and add it to the active mutators.
Console:
(for example)
admin servertravel DM-Deck16][.unr?game=Botpack.TeamGamePlus?mutator=Botpack.NoP owerups,AntiCamper-AH2.AntiCamper
And about CampTime and CampRadius:
Since CampTime is already at 6 this shall be seconds. 6 minutes would be very long.
CampRadius shall be the range where the campers bullets won't harm you.

thx secondly for the Explanations.
I did read the Textfile, sorry to say. And i did follow the steps as descriptioned, again, sorry to say.
I copied the *.u in the UnrealTournament/System Folder
I added the Serverpackages Line in the ThAux.ini (cuz that is the file that will be used on Thieverymod.)
On your request above i added (additional and then single) the same Serverpackages in the UnrealTournament.ini.
I called the mutator by using the ucc.exe, which i start always when i start my 24/7 Thievery Servers.
So there is no need to "slap me in my face", is it?
It might be that the Mutator wont run on Thievery. Cuz it has ThAux.ini not UnrealTournament.ini in use, cuz it has Thievery.exe not UnrealTournament.exe in use.
The Mutator as i wrote above is loaded and running. If i had something done wrong, i would have constantly Serverrestarts for any kind of Mut, thats loading would be failed. The Console says it is loaded and running. but nothing happens, thats the Thing on Thievery.
It might just not run with Thievery, i assume, which is very bad, cuz we need such a Mut like AntiCamper is. Ah, well.

First of all try to run it on a normal gametype like CTF or DOM. And see if that works.
The readme clearly says not tested on other gametypes. So this might just be the case.

Thanks, i had the same idea. I will try on UT and see. Finally a lot of Mutators i have installed and used do not special decline to use on Mods, and they work all.
Seems, that i have one here, that would not do work on Thievery, the UT Mod. Sad, very sad, cuz we have a lot of Probs with Campers. Very sad.
I ll try that out and let u know kawai.

ok,
by the way reconfiguring and reinstalling my Thievery Servers, i tried this Mutator again just by another Serverconfig. In other words: without running ASH400.
There the AntiCamper works it seems. It sends Packages to Client, it detects Camping and it notices moving.
Now only Thing is, the Mutator says "Camping detected" ..."sets to 0", but nothing happens. My Life is still same. I can stand so long i want. Same is on Movement. Then it says "Camping ceases..." "set back to normal". Also i am full of Life, cuz i had none lost.
Do i need (can i ) set that somewhere on the Mutator?

You won't lose any health when being a camper. They only thing the mutator does is making the bullets fired by campers useless.
So if you are camping and firing at someone you won't be able to kill that person.

Works with Jailbreak, for anyone who was wanting to know.
The only problem I found was after a team scores a point and it shows the other team being punished, the mutator will place you in camp mode. However, I don't think it's that big of a problem, because it happens to everyone, and you just have to run away from the spawn point to be able to kill anything.

Howdy-
I found a couple more anticamper mutators. One, by beppo, is NBAnticamperV2. The other, based on beppo's work, is AntiCamper v1.05.
NBAntiCamperV2 displays a "CAMPER!" message to those camping, and sends bots to seek/destroy them. AntiCamper V1.05 can increase the player's fatness, slow them down, and drain health.
Both have configurable camp time and camp radius. Both are attached.

These are all bad. Here's how they work (since they are all based on AH2):
Get current player position (old).
Wait for CampTime to elapse.
Check new player position (new).
If old is close to new -> camper!
However, I could have been playing all the time but accidentally be in, or close to, the same position I was in when the first check was performed... therefor be labeled CAMPER whilst I'm not.
This problem gets worse as you expand the camp radius... since that increases the chance of a player being in the same radius during the first and second check (but in the meantime having moved out of the camp radius).
I think that's why the default settings CampTime: 3, CampRadius: 100 were used. With these low settings, there's only a very small chance you get a false positive. But CampTime 20, CampRadius 500 is much, much more useful... that still allows some sniping etc, but real campers are still punished.
So to summarize how it should be done:
- Get current player position (old)
- Monitor the position of the player every second. If player is seen outside of CampRadius, Camper = false.
- Get player position (new)
- If old is close to new AND Camper is not false -> camper!
Just thought I'd let you know.. so you don't end up installing these on your server and be disappointed.

FairGame uses the same (flawed)code. Maybe I was wrong about AH2 being the original, NBAntiCamper seems the mutator all others are based on :-/
