ACE v0.8G and Linux?
Hi Anthrax,
I'm running UT-99 v436 in Ubuntu 10.04 natively, and works fine with no problems on v06q servers.
Had no problems getting into FSP and PST when they had v6q ... BUt now that they 'upgraded' to v0.8G I can not get into either server.
I did download the Linux.tar and put all 3 of the v16.dll files into my ut/system folder ...
But when I try to connect, it still says I'm missing on of the files and will not let me in.
Nothing appears to have been writen to either my UnrealTournament.ini or my user.ini ... Cleaned my cache, ensured manually that all the ACE files were showing up in my system folder and still no luck.
Anyone got any ideas?

Yup. If you are running it in Linux and not Wine, you need the .so files, not the .dll files.

I had a timeout each 7 minutes on the server with the ACE until I didn't have the external ip. ( http://s44.radikal.ru/i103/1004/91/5abc00252f09.jpg)
Now everything is OK.

If you download the AceV8g from this thread, there is the AceIPDrv.so and the PackageHelper_v13.so.

I believe he is running as client. The client does not need the ACEIPdrv.so

Nah, he's not running a cheat. He's as clean as the day is long. My advice to put the so files in is because that's what linux uses in place of dll's. It would stand to reason that if windows needs the dll's then linux would need the so. Anyways, we'll get it figured out soon enough and get him back on the servers. Anth, what files are required for a linux install?

Hey everyone, a basic question here: for adequate protection, do I need to run other anti-cheat mods such as UT-Pure or AnthChecker if I run ACE?

Did you download this tar: http://utgl.unrealadmin.org/NPLoader/v16b/Linux.tar.gz ? As you mention three .dll's and it contains a .u, .dll and .so file.
On linux there are (at least) two System directories, the main one (i.e. /usr/games/ut/System or /home/rork/Games/ut/System) and a local one for each user (i.e. /home/rork/.loki/ut/System). I have to place the contents of the tar in my main directory in order to get it working. They don't seem to be recognized if I put them in my local system directory)

That's the way the Linux client is designed and also the reason why auto installation fails on Linux. Not much I can do about it (besides making the installation instructions more clear).

starting own thread didn't yeild any answer's ... so I'll ask here.
is there any chance of having a enable/disable feature that will allow an admin to enable/disable [ACE] in game either by typing mutate ace disable or mutate ace enable but retaining the ability to use the screen-shot feature?.
thanks.
fyi: This is only due to the problem of 'regular timeouts' or 'lag issues' or what ever else people complain about.I have no probs in disabling it if/when these problems arise on the condition I can snap a few screen-shots off during this down-time.

AnthraX how about incl. ini setup in the install doc?
I disabled 0.8 at some point due to slow dwl, and removed the setup.
After that was fixed i just enabled all settings again, but as other mods ACE don't create a new section in ini if none exsist (that ofcource would solve the problem too
plus info about any other setting in ini that is supported.
Anyway nice work Hope to see an 1.0 version soon o/

Hellow. Can I ask my question here? I have some problem with all ACE-releases.
I have constantly lag in the beginning of each round. First 10 seconds its all right, but next 10 seconds really slide-show. I forced to wait these 10 seconds every time and I am always killed Because this - very problematic to play duel, where I must to run from first second of battle.
config:
1Gb Ram
Geforce 5900FX
Athlon 2600+ (not sure...)
D3D8 render
I know, that computer is weak, but UT perfectly works on it on servers without ACE.
I tested UT on more powerful computer and have not seen this lag. But I don't want upgrade my comp because ACE, especially if all good works without ACE. Help me plz.

Lol, it's called Tournament = True, just don't play on crappy servers with improper settings.
