Just installed on our server, did a quick check earlier, no problems when server & client patched & running with the AntiTCC1.15a version so far.

Default Hmm. I think there is something wrong ...

Hi...

I just today first updated my UT2004 Server. I uploaded all the things from the patch like it should be. I stopped the server before the update. And when it was all uploaded, it did not start anymore ....

Why, what was different in this update, why the start is not working anymore

This was in the output log:

Quote:

Failed to load 'Game': Can't find file for package 'Game'
Failed to load 'Class Game.Onslaught': Can't find file for package 'Game'
Can't find file for package 'Game'
Can't find file for package 'Game'
Game class is 'ONSOnslaughtGame'

This was never before, what should happen just after an Update ?

I dont get it. I hope someone here knows where the problem is ?

I just put the patch on my server and it stops just after starting the webserver.

I have copyed the old patch back over the top and things are working again. Any ideas what could be killing the server ?

This is on the Linux dedcated server.

I can confirm the same erratic behaviour. It certainly lags all servers running on the same system, which is a serious problem!

Cool, they only announce the good news on this stuff, but it seems they did not really test what they release. The Server makes 99 % CPU after starting with the new Patch on LINUX. So, and they are not able to see this before releasing it ?

LOL LOL LOL

Even they must encountered that problem, because its the first you see before you actually see nothing more....

This totally sucks.... sorry !

Wolfseye

P.S.: Btw, its buggy but still for download here LOL ... How much ppl must have this bug on their Linux Server Delete this please...

Default Worked for me on RH 9

Running a small 8 player server on RH 9 (2.4.x), first time I copied the patch, forgot to update the directory where my cacherecords.ucl was, it was using the one from the original retail server installation. The 3204 patch worked fine, but when I updated to 3236, i got the 99% cpu usage problem when starting up. I applied the 3204 patch again and it worked. Odd. Now I tried it again, but first removed the cacherecords file I had to a backup folder and then overwrote it with the new 3236 patch one.

Some startup scripts have a cacherecords check/copier in it, if you are using the old cacherecords, possibly it could be the source of the 99% cpu usage problem? That's the only thing I did differently on my second attempt at the new patch update, and it worked.

Hope this helps some of you!

I think the problem here was the LINUX Ded. System. I am happy it works on WinDumb but when its released for both systems it should work on both systems, and did not cause such a mess....

Any testing would have indicated that the first thing happening after trying to start the server.
But well, it seems they have special EPIC Test Linux System, where it works ...

Wolfseye

P.S.: Btw, its still in the downloads here. How many ppl else should upload this bug crap on their linux server, experiencing this shit too ?

Windows and Linux versions can be downloaded here

[sodding great big snip...]

Mac
- fixed Mac clients reporting incorrect MD5s for packages and tripping security checks.
- Make MacOS version prevent user from ejecting the game DVD while game is running.
But the link only goes to the Windows and Linux patches as far as I can tell. Do us Mac users use the Linux patch? I can't see that working.

Thumbs down Server Name colors gone

Just installed this new (bugy) patch, and now all colors have been removed from the server name. Check my .ini and UT2Vote.ini files, and the color information is STILL THERE. I am not running AntiTCC, and yet the colors are no longer acknowledged. Anybody else having this problem

Unhappy Colors also removed

Colors from players and ServerName were removed also on my server. I have downgraded my server (on linux slackware kernel 2.6.7) to the previous version. I also mentioned the pause and 100% cpu when the server starts. Hope epic will not decide to remove colors from players and servers in the future.
